Celtic Advent - Following An Unfamiliar Path
This is the last excerpt I will post from my upcoming Advent devotional. We are on course to have this available for preorder by the end of next week, and should have the book ready to shipping by mid October. The joy of publishing on Amazon when I get a spur of the moment idea to write and publish an Advent devotional… in 2 months!!!
The amazing thing is that I seem to have reached my goal. It is at the proof reading and editing stage and I continue to receive helpful insights from my readers. If you have comments or questions based on the excerpts I have posted please don’t hesitate to ask. I appreciate any feedback you might have.
A good friend asked my yesterday “What do you hope the reader will gain from this book?” Such a great question. My hope is that this book will stir our creativity and encourage all of us to gain new insights into the Advent story, insights that bring us not only closer to Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth and Zechariah and all the cast of the Advent story, but also closer to God and God’s purposes for us. Through this unfamiliar path to the manger, we are enabled to step outside the boundaries of our current knowledge and find fresh ways to worship God. The witness of those who have gone before us enables us to stand firm in our faith even when the world is in upheaval.
The image above is the new cover for the book. It still requires a few tweaks, but this was my favourite and also the favourite for most of you. I am really excited about this book and feel that it was very much a God inspired project. I particularly enjoyed writing these reflections for the last week of Advent. I hope you do too.
