I also consider the garden a deep thought provoker as I lean into the hard work of spring revision. What does God want to revise in me? is the question that comes to me. I also feel sightings of birds in my garden bring me great joy. An unexpected couple of blue jays landing in the Japanese dogwoods opposite my kitchen window were beautiful to watch and behold. That royal blue!!! And then they are off.
In my heart I celebrate God’s creativity.

Thanks for this, Becky. Royal blue Jays sounds wonderful. It helps me to rethink my image of blue Jays as they killed one of our nesting swallows a few years ago and the swallows never came back. However, I do agree that they are beautiful. I will be up on Camano Island next week for a few days. It is one of my favourite places.

One of my favorite garden rhythms is watching as the birds unintentionally spread seeds from one season to bring beautiful flowers the next spring/summer. We enjoy the involuntary plantings that always surprise us through self-seeding and bird “plantings.”
